Morrison and Electro-Technic Products Collaborate to Develop Model VC-105A for Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Packaging

Glenwood, Illinois - MORRISON TIMING SCREW COMPANY designers and manufacturers of container handling systems, has teamed up with Electro-Technic Products, (Chicago, IL) engineers and manufacturers of scientific, electronic and control instruments, to develop a High Voltage Automated Bottle Vacuum Tester (Model VC-105A) that inspects vacuum-sealed products. By utilizing high frequency and high voltage spark testing technology, the Model VC-105A provides strong quality assurance and ensures reliable, accurate and non-destructive bottle and vial inspection. The Model VC-105A identifies and tests vacuum seals at speeds up to 350 ppm.

MTS designed, manufactured and assembled the material handling component including unscrambling, feeding, spacing and rejection, as well as the interface for high voltage spark testing. The system’s flexible container handling design makes changeover easy for different bottle and vial sizes. Electro-Technic designed the software and electronics for the high frequency, high voltage spark testing.

The Model VC-105A Automated Bottle Vacuum Testing System is an automated, high-speed machine designed for fast throughput and requires no operator interface. The VC-105A can be easily adapted to fit into conventional, in-line batch production systems.
